Welcome Back Skydivers! I hope everyone is settling into their new classes!!
This is a great weekend to come jump with us, warmer weather and blue skies! - so come on out!
Saturday ONLY we will be taking static liners, AFF, and tandem students.
Please e-mail me your:
Name
Type of jump
if you need transportation
phone number
We recommend people bring more than enough clothes to stay warm, maybe even a face mask for your jump (remember you will be traveling an average of 120 mph if doing an AFF or tandem jump). It’s better than have to take off layers than not have enough!
See you all this weekend! Blue Skies!

Congratulations to Megan Dunning and her boyfriend for braving the 16 degree weather and doing their first Tandem jumps today. It was chilly, but we still had a good time.

Gearing up for the cold.

The walk to the plane. The camera is too far away to capture the dread on our faces.

We landed…

Then sprinted inside.

I would have taken pictures of the tandems landing, but I was in the pilot’s lounge trying not to cry from the cold. (The picture’s from last year, but I made the same face today…)
Finally, thanks to everyone who has came out and jumped with the Falling Illini this year. We’re done for this semester, but trips will start again as soon as classes start again in January. We hope to see even more jumpers out next year. See you in ‘09!
Blue Skies,
Mike Murphy

Congratulations to Meghan Murphy, Christine Pinheiro, and Anika Hermann for coming out and doing tandem jumps and Haibo Cheng, Kristin Ingstrup, Mingshan Lai, Andres Linshiu, and Pragnesh Podar for making their first static line jumps this weekend. And let’s not forget Abdul, who successfully landed across the lake after his jump (although it wasn’t his fault).

Finally, thanks and congrats to Caitlin Krause for letting me post her tandem video from last month.
Blue Skies,
Mike

Attention Skydivers! This weekend’s supposed to be really nice, so you should come out and jump with us.
This weekend we are doing the 1st jump course static line program on saturday! So if you would like to do a static line jump (and it is your first time) saturday is the day to go!
Tandems are heading up near Chicago on Saturday. This dropzone has much larger planes and facilities, but it is a little farther away, so expect to be gone for most of the day. Also, if you bring a (weather appropriate) costume you may be allowed to jump in it.
If you want to make a jump this weekend e-mail me your:
Name
Day you want to jump
Type of Jump
If you have or need transportation
Phone Number
Blue Skies!!

Congratulations to Mike Murphy who made his 100th jump this past weekend! (that’s him in the red and yellow)
