Last jump of the year

Thursday, December 14th, 2006 6:18 pm by Aaron VanDevender

So finals are (mostly) over, and we’re blessed with some freakishly nice weather for December, so I suggest everyone take advantage of it and go jump. The forecast for Saturday says it’s going to be a balmy 65 degrees. If you’d like to get in one last jump this year (even if it’s your first) let me know. We probably won’t have many weekends like this till spring.

Skydiving, Chile and Chili

Chile:

While the rest of you were stuffing yourselves with turkey and pumpkin pie, I decided to go skydiving down south, where it’s still warm. Way down south. I went to South America and made a few jumps in Pucon, Chile, a town in the shadow of an active volcano. Here’s a video I took of myself jumping over Pucon. See if you can spot the snow-capped volcano in the background.

Chili:

We’re going skydiving this weekend, and Saturday is the annual chili party. We’ll be jumping all day (and the weather for Saturday looks good) and then hanging around for a chili cook-off at the dropzone. You can come to cook, to judge, or just to eat, but after a day of cold weather jumping, a bowl of spicy chili hits the spot. If you’d like to come jump and eat some tasty chili, let me know.
