I would like to congradulate new jumpers Michael Benjamin, Harish Tella, Jaime Gonzalez, John Ley, and Marcus Shaw who made their first skydives on Saturday. I would also like to congradulate Jessica Fulton, Mike Kozak, Mary Pellin, Kristen Weber, and Laura Zajdel who made their first tandem skydives on Sunday. Way to go, guys!

For anyone going down with us tomorrow, or for anyone who will ever go jumping with us, here are some things to know about jump day.

First off, if you are going to be getting a ride from someone, please bring at least $5 dollars to pay the driver for gas. With gas prices the way they are these days it can really cut into jumping money of the people that are driving.

We meet in front of the Union at 7:45am and depart no later than 8am

Also, bring money for lunch and dinner. Most days we are down there the whole day and don’t get back to late. Which brings up my next point. Expect it to be an all day event. There might be someone coming home early, but most of us like to stay down and party a bit after the jump day.

What to wear you ask. Tennis shoes are pretty much the only thing that should be on your feet. They are comfortable and the best fit for what you will be doing. Other than that, just where comfortable clothes that are suitable for the temperature.

I know this is short notice, but we have been trying to get all the names into the list server and get the website up and running. And by “we” I mean Aaron. So thank you Aaron for picking up the large amount of slack that I have created by not knowing how to make websites and such. For all of you who have yet to visit the site, at some point go to fallingillini.org. As of now i am the only one that I know that is going down this weekend. There is limited room in my car, so people wanting to do the first jump course, or regulars, if you have a car and want to go down we might need you to take it. I will need to know ASAP from anyone that wants to go Saturday. We might have a memeber going down sunday as well but I am not sure about that yet. If you will be attending know that we meet in front of the union at 7:45am and will leave no later than 8. I will be coming back around 6pm i would like to say so it wont be a very late night like usual. Prices for the jumps and more information is located on the website, on the My First Jump page. Quad Day was a huge success! We signed up a ton of new skydivers for our mailing list and will be welcoming them to the club shortly. We also handed out a lot of flyers, so if you got one of those, and didn’t sign our sheet, you can add yourself to our mailing list.

The Falling Illini have a new website. It is being graciously designed and hosted by club member and hard-core skydiver Aaron VanDevender.
